Mission Reunions, Conference and The Gateway

We are fortunate enough to live in Utah so that when October rolls around we are able to attend all of the exciting mission reunions and some of the conference sessions. I'll be honest, every year when we attend my reunion and we sing our mission song, I tear up. I can't help but think of the awesome 19 months of service to our Heavenly Father and His children. Those were some of the best days of my life, some that I will never forget.

Steve didn't have an official reunion, but a few of his friends from the mission were able to get together at Gabe's house. It was fun  being able to hear all of the mission stories and experiences.

On Saturday our really good friend, Kristen Ghent, was able to find Priesthood session tickets for the boys, so us girls took advantage of the opportunity to get together and shop at the Gateway while the boys were being uplifted:) This a picture of us after the session at CPK

Since we didn't have a b-day party for me this year, we decided to celebrate my birthday and get a free dessert (it was 2 weeks late:).

On Sunday, the Gurrs invited us to go to the afternoon session of conference with them and their family. We loved getting to know their family better.

Every time we go to conference it is such an amazing experience. There is nothing like being in the same room of all of the general authorities and the prophet of God!

Overall it was a great weekend! We were able to do fun/uplifting activities with wonderful friends and family.

My 25th Birthday!

My Birthday was the best and there were sooo many people who made it happen!
In the morning Steve let me sleep in and when I woke up at 8 he had all of my presents sitting on the table. He was so sweet! I loved everything he got me! After Steve left for school and work I got to go to the gym, which for me is so relaxing. I love when I can workout in the morning, which doesn't happen very often. It's easier to find the time in the evening. After I showered and worked on a school group presentation, I headed off to the DMV to renew my license (it was expired that day. I know I am a slacker:)
Court called me in the morning and told me that she wanted to take me to Lunch so right after the DMV I called her to let her know I was done. She showed up to my house with a little surprise - James was with her! He drove all the way down from Salt Lake to come to lunch with us! I love my family so much. We only had a few minutes because I had to go to work, but those few minutes were the best. For my birthday Court made me this super cute headband (that I am wearing in the pictures below), took me to eat at Cafe Rio and did my hair! James came down from Salt Lake and got me a gift card to Rubios and I can't wait to use it!

After work, Tiff and Drew stopped by with an awesome gift! We are in desperate need of games and they knew that because all we do when they come over is watch random stuff on YouTube:) So... they gifted me with Apples to Apples and a sweet eco friendly bag made from recycled plastic! I loved it all. Thanks guys! After they left, Steve got home and surprised me by taking me to the Melting Pot. This was super exciting for us because #1 we had never been before and #2 it was the most expensive meal we had ever paid for ourselves. We ended up loving it, but probably ate a little too much:)

Our waitress lighting the chocolate on fire. It was pretty cool.

These are our goofy pictures showing how excited we were.
I would definitely recommend the four course meal for the experience but after that one time I would stick to the cheese and chocolate.  It was the best night, made possible by the best husband!

C&C Northern CA Reception!

On September 19th, Chris and Cassie had a reception in El Dorado Hills, Ca. It was beautiful! Mom and Dad Thompson worked so hard to get everything looking so perfect for the newlyweds and boy did it look amazing! Several others helped get the party going - Aunt Kathy, Amy, Scott, Nicole, Travis, and Steve were just a few of the hard workers.  It turned out to be fun evening with all the guests, band and good food!

Once again I didn't have my camera so all of these pictures are from Nicole.
I wasn't even awake for this, but I had to post it! I guess there is an Uncle, whom I have never met, who makes all of these candy dispensers by hand. I was cracking up when I saw this picture, because it reminded me of when Steve and I got ours:)

Can't wait to spend more time with the family! It was so much fun!

Oqurrih Mtn. Temple

We were up in Riverton at Amy's and Scotts this weekend and we decided that we would go to eat a Olive Garden and make a little date night out of it. After eating, we went to check out the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It was beautiful, just like the rest of them:) As you can tell we probably ate a little too much which made us hyper!

These are our jumping shots. We found this light we stood next to and would jump and take a picture at the same time. We are geeks, I know:)

We can't wait to do a session at this temple.

are we too old for a slumber party?!

I think not!!! On Labor Day weekend Cami, Mitch and Cooper had us over for an awesome slumber party! Who would have ever thought that a slumber party at the age of 24/25 would be so fun?! We stayed up way past our curfew, ate treats, played guitar hero, chatted and watch a movie.

We decided that we will NEVER be too old for a slumber party:) Thanks Squires and Gurrs for keeping us young. We had a blast!

Summer fun with Tiff and Drew!

We weren't able to hang out with Tiff and Drew as much as we wanted to this summer because of our crazy schedules. But let me tell you, the times we did were some of the best! They are so fun to hang out with because they are so much like us!

The classic Surf and Slurp! How could anyone go a week in the summer without the famous shave ice from this place?!

This night we started off with making quesadillas and dipping them in Bajio dressing. Later we went in the Gourdin's hot tub. After sitting in the hot tub for a few minutes we decided to go to 24 hour fitness and play in their pool. It was quite the adventure, because most people who swim at the gym are swimming to get a workout and of course we were just goofing off. It was so much fun!
In these pictures the boys are just being themselves... haha!

On labor day weekend we wanted to swim at a pool with a high dive, but of course the Provo Rec was closed so we ended up going to King Henry with all of the singles. They all stared at us with our rings on, which was kind of awkward, but we made the best of it and had a ton of fun! After splashing in the pool for a few hours we tried to go to the new Pirates Island but it was an hour and a half wait so we ate at Terra Mia and loved it.

Thanks Tiff and Drew for all the fun! We love hanging out with you guys!
